Description
The Merchandise Planner, Online is responsible for driving the business through strategic merchandise planning, controlled inventory management, actionable reporting and insightful analysis. This position will develop and lead the execution of the brand merchandise financial plans for E-Commerce including sales, product margin, receipts, and inventory. The Merchandise Planner will lead the seasonal merchandise planning process which requires analyzing current business trend, market data, historical data, and recommending strategies, course corrections and improvements based on these assessments. The planner works together with their ecommerce team counterparts and plays a critical role in achieving sales targets by ensuring overall merchandising support for Estée Lauder, Lab Series, and Bobbi Brown North America Online as well as Lab Series retailers.
Responsibilities
Forecasting
- Manage the monthly replenishment forecasts for basic products at the sku level ensuring a never out of stock strategy through strong forecast accuracy and in-season management
- Own “bottoms up” planning by category, assortment and buy plans to achieve financial plans
- Drive detailed weekly analysis & reporting that leads to clear actions to drive the business in support of sell-through and revenue goals set for brand
- Work effectively as a member of a cross- functional department team (Merchandising/Ecommerce, Planning, & Allocation) by focusing on team objectives and communicating clearly
- Manage category monthly identifying key risks and opportunities including clear actions to drive performance in key metrics with focus on sales, margin and inventory turn
- Reforecast business in-season based on current performance, present revised projections and recommendations to cross-functional partners and senior leadership
- Partner with brands and cross-functional teams in identifying risks and capitalizing on business opportunity
- Merchandising and demand planning to forecast new product launches based on business performance and industry trends
- Assist teams with tracking and pricing excess inventory to sell quickly
- Lead new door/brand extension process to support retail business growth for Lab Series
- Present to and regularly interact with senior team leaders, including VPs and SVP/ GMs
- Act as lead for ad-hoc division-wide projects
Collaboration with E-commerce/Marketing teams
- Work closely with Merchandising/E-commerce teams and Business Planning to identify sales opportunities through effective strategic planning and product level analysis.
- Participate in pre-season strategy including robust hind-sighting as well as participate in pre-season strategy through partnership with E-commerce team.
- Team with ecommerce to have in-depth knowledge of marketing programs including new launches to understand impact on sales and inventory needs.
- Review inventory requirements for promotions i.e., Friends & Family, GWP, Black Friday, Cyber Monday
Inventory Management
- Forecast inventory monthly to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained by consistently reviewing weeks of supply, sell thru and trend.
- Plan, Manage, Communicate, and Execute Returns of Goods on discontinued items, and post-holiday items.
- Identify regional stock transfers based on business needs and review out of stocks on a weekly basis.
- Manage the forecasting of samples and GWP POs for brand.com sites and execute POs for Lab Series retailers.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Ecommerce and or retail inventory
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills
- Strong understanding of time phased forecasting and replenishment systems – SAP/APO a plus
- Ability to analyze and review large amount of data in Excel
- Ability to work quickly on ad-hoc reporting and analyzing data in real time
- Knowledge of inventory models and metrics
- Deep understanding of retail planning and inventory management needs

Pay Range
The anticipated base salary range for this position is
$85,000.00 to $139,600.00. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
